Come join the group as A.J. will be giving a walkthrough of features coming in the next release of Photoshop CS5. You’ve seen it on YouTube, come see the amazing new features live & in person.
Following the Photoshop CS5 presentation, Jason Fincannon will give a short discussion (30 minutes) on the Flash vs Apple debate as seen through the eyes of a programmer but explained in terms the layman can understand.
Social Media – Tips & Tricks

Topic:
The past few meetings at DFW Social Media Marketing have covered subjects such Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. This is barely the tip of the iceberg in dealing with Social Media Marketing and it can be overwhelming. A.J. will offer some welcome tips on how to make this process not only more personal (such as creating your own Twitter background)but some tips and tricks in streamlining your Social Media.

1. Tips for creating a Twitter background.
2. URL shortening services, so many choices, what to choose? (Why not use your own domain name as a URL shortener?)
3. Are you using the same brand across all social media platforms? Check to see WHERE your name is available.
4. Using services such as TweetLater, CoTweet & Ping.fm to manage & automate your social media network.

NOTE – The front door of the facility is locked. We use the side door entrance (which is not marked well). PLEASE KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED, so the dogs will not get out.

Industry Giants – June 6 & 7

If you’re a fan of The Simpson’s you won’t want to miss Industry Giants 2008: Drawing on Ideas!
Mike Anderson, supervising director for the popular animated television series, headlines the Industry Giants Computer Graphics, Animation and Game Forum. The event takes June 6th & 7th at the Spring Creek Campus of Collin County Community College (View a Google map of the location). It’s open to the public, students, and industry professionals.
Hosted annually by Collin’s Applied Graphic Design Technology department and ABOSG (A Bunch of Short Guys), Industry Giants 2008 features Master Classes and a one-day forum and panel discussion. The event features a distinctive lineup of speakers working in all areas of animation and visual effects for film, television and games.
